En la primera de ellas, una trabajadora rural se muda a la ciudad de São Paulo para buscar a su hermana y tratar de prosperar allí. En la segunda, otra mujer vuelve a la granja familiar tras la muerte de su padre, del que estaba distanciada, y debe enfrentarse a viejos fantasmas.
